Since acquiring the Maybach brand in 2013, Mercedes has continually improved upon its already high standards of comfort and technology to produce vehicles that give new meaning to the phrase “ultra-luxury.”

Pushing the envelope even further, Mercedes recently unveiled plans for a fully electric Maybach: an SUV concept vehicle that combines the unparalleled architecture of the classic Maybach with an all-electric powertrain. Dubbed the “Mercedes-Maybach EQS,” it is both timeless and cutting edge.

New Features of the Mercedes-Maybach Electric Concept Car

The Maybach EQS has been sculpted and refined at every turn, starting with the sleek, seamless exterior. A flawless two-tone paint job pairs with gleaming chrome accents and high-gloss black trim to convey a sense of both muscle and grace.

Classic Maybach elements include elegant lettering on the hood and filigree, vertical pinstripes on the cooler. LED light units are framed with a fine-knit mesh of the Maybach emblem.

The interior of the Maybach EQS concept feels more like a high end lounge, with front and rear seats as comfortable and spacious as the S-Class. The rear seats feature first class amenities, including the High End Rear Seat Entertainment system and an elongated calf rest. The surfaces have been gorgeously accented with white piano lacquer and the flooring is a plush, faux-fur.

How Will the Maybach EQS Operate?

The all-electric Maybach will likely run using the same technology as the current EQ Line

The 2022 EQS, for example, utilizes synchronous motors and an under-the-floor lithium ion battery to produce high torque at low speeds, resulting in greater efficiency and incredible responsiveness.

Mercedes electric vehicles can be charged on-the-go at over 60,000 stations nationwide. The MBUX platform and MercedesMe app make it easy to plan trips and pre-pay while traveling. Electric vehicle owners can also charge their vehicles at home with the ChargePoint Home Flex system.

When Will the Maybach EQS Be Released?

Currently, the only all-electric vehicle available by Mercedes is the EQS. Mercedes plans on releasing the EQB, another all-electric SUV, later this year. The EQB all-electric sedan will also be available in 2022. It is likely that Mercedes will start production on the electric Maybach after the release of these vehicles, sometime in 2023.

In the meantime, Mercedes Benz of Littleton has limited stock of the all-new, all electric 2022 EQS 450+. Stop by our dealership or go online to see why the EQ line is the future of luxury vehicles.
