Mercedes Benz recently announced the arrival of its 2024 E Class, and many of us are curious about updates to the outgoing model. While it looks like much of the exterior and interior styling will remain fairly consistent, there are a few surprising additions: namely, a “superscreen” that allows passengers to watch movies and play games while the vehicle is moving. Read our article to learn more about what to expect in the 2024 E Class.

2024 Mercedes E Class Trim Options

The all new E class will be available in two trim options, both of which are all wheel drive. The E 350 will incorporate a 2.0 L four cylinder engine that gets 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque; the E 450 gets a boost with a 3.0 L six cylinder that puts out an impressive 375 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque.

Both trim options come standard with Mild Hybrid Drive, which lends an additional 20 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque in certain conditions.

Exterior of 2024 Mercedes E Class

The new E Class exterior incorporates subtle changes that make it more aesthetically in line with the brand’s EQ models. For example, a high gloss black panel connects the radiator grille with the headlamps, and drivers can opt to have the grille itself illuminated along the edges.

A slightly longer wheelbase (+0.87 inches) increases passenger leg room, and cargo space is increased to 19 cubic feet.

Mercedes E Class Hyperscreen is Now a Superscreen

The 2024 E Class has an optional “superscreen” that allows passengers to watch movies or even take a selfie.

In place of the traditional hyperscreen, drivers of the 2024 Mercedes E Class vehicles can opt for a “superscreen.” This is an extended version of the hyperscreen that allows passengers to stream a movie while the car is in motion. The superscreen also includes a selfie and video camera. For those worried about distracted driving, the superscreen has apparently been designed with advanced filtering so that the driver is unable to see what is playing.

In addition to the superscreen, the 2024 E Class supports third party apps on the latest generation of the MBUS infotainment system. You can play games, like Angry Birds, scroll on TikTok, or even conduct a Zoom Meeting (when the car is not moving, of course).

More New Features of the 2024 E Class Mercedes

Another feature unique to the latest E Class vehicles is the optional Ambient Lighting with Sound Visualization. The system utilizes various lights to reflect the sounds of music playing or a movie streaming. The lights will flash and change color according to perceived beat sequences, creating an immersive sound and video experience.

In an ongoing effort to support sustainability, the 2024 E Class is now the first Mercedes vehicle to utilize recycled raw materials in the seat foam.

When Can I Buy a 2024 E Class Sedan?

Mercedes has yet to set pricing  or release dates for its two trim options. However, with the 2023 E 350 starting at $56,750, we can estimate the base trim for the 2024 model to be at least that much (probably more, with the additional tech). As for a release date, that’s anyone’s guess. With luck, we will hopefully see these vehicles at US dealerships in the Fall.
