Mercedes GLC 300 driving at sunset

A luxury SUV, like the Mercedes GLC 300, may seem like an odd choice for a “utility vehicle.” An SUV generally brings a few things to mind. You might picture a sturdy vehicle that can brave the snow or take you camping. Or you might imagine a mom bringing her kids and the dog to soccer practice or on a long distance trip to see the grandparents.

It would seem that, for many of us, a good SUV tends to be synonymous with function rather than style. Those of us in the market for one want a car that is roomy, powerful, and reliable. But what about comfort? And what about efficiency?

Contrary to popular belief, the terms “SUV” and “luxury” are not mutually exclusive. In particular, the Mercedes-Benz GLC class is the ideal combination of style and substance. This compact vehicle takes everything you would want in a solid SUV and enhances it with Mercedes’ trademark luxury innovations.

Features of the Mercedes-Benz 2023 GLC 300

Mercedes introduced the GLC in 2015, making it a relatively new addition to its lineup. The latest version includes even greater improvements in technology, styling, and efficiency.

GLC 300 Exterior

The 2023 GLC has a completely revamped design, addressing the somewhat bulky appearance of its predecessors. Modern wheel options, re-styled headlamps, and a new bumper create a more unified and tailored look. And a tiny but impactful design choice really stands out in the 2023 grille: mini silver Mercedes’ stars form a delicate but sporty chain-link pattern behind the main logo.

This time, you also have the option to paint your wheel arches for an even sleeker look. Choose the AMG trim option for a truly sporty design, with bold accents, larger wheels, and aerodynamic features.

The new GLC is slightly larger than the 2022 version. The length has increased by 2.4 inches to a total of 185.7 inches, while the wheelbase has gained a little over half an inch.

Mercedes GLC New Interior

The interior of the new GLC 300 is where this car really shines. Every square inch has been restyled to offer the utmost in comfort and technology. The GLC SUV will premier the MBUX 2.0 Infotainment System, Mercedes’ patented artificially intelligent navigation and driver assist software.

The central touchscreen pairs with the vehicle’s 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster to create a pinnacle of automotive electronic convenience. Other standard Mercedes tech is, of course, included, including bluetooth device pairing, Apple CarPlay, and music streaming.

Thanks to the increase in length, the cabin and cargo area are roomier than ever. Plush Napa leather covers the seats, dashboard, doors, and even the sides of the center console. Features like ambient lighting, lumbar support, and heated seats and steering wheel provide incomparable driver and passenger comfort.

GLC 300 Engine Specs

The 2023 GLC 300 4Matic+ will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0 liter inline four engine, achieving 258 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. It also boasts Mild Hybrid capabilities thanks to the presence of a 48 volt battery and integrated starter generator. Energy is recouped when breaking and decelerating, resulting in greater fuel economy. Mercedes plans to release a plugin hybrid version in the future as well.
