Which is Better? C class or E class

The Mercedes Benz C Class and E Class Sedans are both stylish and innovative designs, with a few key differences. We’re breaking it down to see which is better – C class vs. E class head to head. The C Class is available in two models: the C300 and the AMG C43. The E Class is available in four models: the E350/E450, and the AMG E53/E63. Each line has its own advantages and potential drawbacks, which we will look at in detail in this article.

The Mercedes Benz C300 and AMG C43 Sedans

The 2021 Mercedes Benz C-class cars underscore the brand’s blend of class and technology. The outside of these compact cars is sporty and sleek, with a chiseled body that can be personalized via a wide selection of wheels and colors.

Inside the C class you will find all the comforts associated with a Mercedes Benz, including heated seats, hand-finished wood paneling, and a 10.25” center screen that can be controlled with a touchpad on the steering wheel.

The C300 has customization options to make each driver feel truly at home. Dynamic Select lets you pre-set throttle, steering, and shift point preferences. You can further personalize your drive by choosing from 64 ambient lighting options.

The C class cars strike a balance between power and fuel efficiency. The 9-speed automatic transmission can be paired with the Mercedes Benz 4Matic all-wheel drive upgrade for even more precise handling. The twin turbo engine gets an impressive 255 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque, all while maintaining up to 35 mpg on the highway.

If you feel the need for speed, Mercedes Benz also offers an AMG version of its C-Class line. The AMG C43 Sedan’s V6 engine bumps up the hp to 385 and outfits the design with sporty AMG wheels, a diamond-block grille, and swanky cabin upgrades.

C-Class vehicles start at $41,600 MSRP.

Pros of Mercedes C Class:

  • Sleek design
  • Sophisticated technology
  • Wide selection of colors and accessories
  • Affordability
  • Good fuel economy
  • AMG option

Cons of Mercedes C Class:

  • Less room
  • Have to upgrade to 4MATIC® All Wheel Drive
  • Only two models to choose from

The Mercedes Benz E350 and E450 Sedans

The Mercedes Benz E Class Sedans kick technology up a notch. For starters, you can talk to them. The Mercedes Benz User Experience (UX) is a learning system that will adjust temperature, set GPS, and more based on your voice commands. It is more intuitive than standard voice commands, with the ability to interpret your needs. For example, you can simply say, “Hey, Mercedes, it’s hot in here” and your car will turn on the AC.

You have full control of your E Class from your smartphone with the Mercedes Benz Me Connect application. Remote start, lock/unlock, and service scheduling are just a few things you can accomplish.

Safety features include standard Blind Spot Assist and advanced options to change lanes and adjust cruise control to navigate stop and go traffic. 64 options for ambient lighting can reduce drowsiness.

The design of the E Class is as sophisticated as the C Class, with bold accents and a sculpted body. As a mid-size sedan, however, the E class is roomier than the more compact C300 and AMG C43,

The 4MATIC® All Wheel system comes standard on the E350 and E450. The E350 is comparable in power and fuel economy to the C300, at 255 hp and 35 mpg on the highway. The E450 ramps up the horsepower to 362 with a turbo inline-6 engine equipped with EQ boost technology.

The E Class is also available in two AMG versions, the AMG E53 and the AMG E63. The E53 has an inline-6 engine and 423 horsepower, while the E63 boasts a handcrafted V8 engine with an incredible 603 horsepower.

The Mercedes E Class sedans start at $54,250 MSRP.
