The Mercedes Benz AMG GT vehicles are a class of luxury sports car that combines the power and speed of a supercar with the comfort and sophistication of a classic Mercedes.
In 2018, Mercedes introduced a four-door version of the traditional AMG GT two-door model, called the 4-Door Coupé. The Coupés allow for additional seating and cargo space without sacrificing power or design.
There are currently three models of Coupé available: the GT 43, GT 53, and GT 63. All are comparable in size but vary in key features including horsepower, torque, and engine design.
The Mercedes AMG GT 43 4Matic+
The GT 43 starts the 4-door coupé lineup with an impressive 362 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The beltless turbo inline-6 engine features an electric EQ Boost capability that allows the car to go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. The GT 43 uses Mercedes’ patented 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system and is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
At 25 mpg, the GT 43 has surprisingly good gas mileage for a sports car. It also has 12.3 cubic feet of cargo space and enough room for four passengers, giving it the distinction of being a family-friendly racing vehicle.

The Mercedes AMG GT 53 4Matic+
The 2021 Mercedes AMG GT 53 includes many of the same features as the GT 43, such as the 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system and 9-speed automatic transmission. It also has room for 4 passengers and has comparable cargo space. However, its engine has been enhanced with an electric auxiliary compressor, resulting in greater power and torque. The GT 53 model boasts 429 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque.
The 2021 GT-53 4-door coupés start at $99,950 and are also available in 10 base colors.
The Mercedes AMG GT 63 4Matic+
The 2021 Mercedes AMG GT 63 is the fastest and most powerful family vehicle you will likely ever drive. The handcrafted AMG 4.0 L V8 biturbo engine pushes this car to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds and features an incredible 577 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque.
The GT-63 4-Door Coupe manages to reach this level of power and speed without sacrificing space, with seats for four passengers and the same cargo space as the GT-53. It has slightly less fuel economy than the other models at 21 mpg, but that is a reasonable sacrifice given the unparalleled performance and style of this vehicle.
