Mercedes-Benz has a long relationship with the world of golf. The brand is a Global sponsor of the Masters Tournament and an Official Patron of the Open. Annually, more than 60,000 players participate in the MercedesTrophy, an amateur tournament that represents over 60 countries.

Currently, Mercedes counts golf champions Bernhard Langer, Jon Rahm, Rickie Fowler, Inbee Park and So Yeon Ryu among its brand ambassadors. Many of the players are introduced to new models of Mercedes at the tournaments, and some fall in love. Ian Poulter, for example, first test drove a Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 4Matic at the Masters and now owns one.
The partnership between golf and Mercedes-Benz makes sense. Golf requires “focus, persistence, and a concentration of power,” qualities that can also be appreciated in the Mercedes brand.

Golfing in Colorado

It’s no secret that Coloradans love the outdoors, and golf is no exception. There are over 300 public golf courses in Colorado, and our 300 days of sunshine mean you can often golf year round. While there are plenty of great options, a few courses stand out for their beauty, history, and design.

Broadmoor Golf Club East

The Broadmoor Golf Club East is nestled in the Cheyenne Mountain foothills of Colorado Springs. The course is famous for its natural beauty and challenging design. Putting greens are especially tricky. Many feature contours that trick the eye into thinking they slope downward instead of upward.

The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones and Donald Ross. It  is consistently rated as one of the top golf courses in the country, with everyone from professional golfers to politicians stopping by for a game.

Red Sky is a public course in Avon, Colorado. Avon is a small municipality just west of Vail, with all the charms and stunning views that tend to come with mountain towns. The golf course is actually two massive courses separated by a ridge that allows deer and elk to pass. Eagle River runs nearby, and players will appreciate spectacular wooded surroundings and wildlife sightings. Both courses are registered as Audubon Cooperative Sanctuaries.

The Ridge at Castle Pines North

The Ridge is located just south of Denver and features a classic layout with rolling hills and bunkers and wide fairways. It was designed by Tom Weiskopf and, like Broodmoor, is consistently rated among the top courses in the state. It is located in the foothills of the Front Range, but views extend as far as Pikes Peak, Mt Evans, and Devil’s Head.

End the day in style at Park Place, the Ridge’s famous restaurant. Book a table on the patio and enjoy a drink while overlooking Castle Rock Valley.
