The scorching days of summer are almost over, which means its fast becoming prime peddling season. The Front Range (and all of Colorado) is home to some truly world class mountain bike trails. From mellow loops to all-day wilderness excursions, expeditions are plentiful for any level of rider. Additionally, the incredible plants and wildlife in the area make for stunning views and relaxing natural paradises.

A great ride starts with a great trail. Whether it’s the view, the difficulty, or the thrilling single-track downhill, the trail makes the experience. 1) Waterton Canyon

Located just outside of Littleton, Waterton Canyon is one of Denver’s premiere recreation sites. Take in the canyon walls and gorgeous river on this easy out-and-back trail. Getting your vehicle serviced? This is a great ride to crush in the meantime, and you’re close enough to the dealership to ride all the way back!

2) North Table Loop

Golden, Colorado offers a lot to Front Range dwellers: a gorgeous old-town feel, excellent restaurants, and amazing mountain bike trails! North Table Loop is a local favorite, and will get you up high very quickly for some great views of Golden, Denver, and beyond.

3) Elk Meadow & Bergen Peak Loop

If you’re willing to drive a bit for your epic ride, there’s nothing that quite tops this roller-coaster of a trail in Evergreen, Colorado. Steep ascents pay off with fast, technical downhill. You’ll want to be in good shape for this one, but it’s well worth the challenge!

Views abound on this gorgeous jaunt through some of Colorado’s greenest hillsides. It’s also a great chance to explore Golden Gate Canyon State Park, which is a great picnic, hiking, or biking spot in the warmer months. Look out for wildlife!
