How to Reset Your Sprinter Van’s Service Light

Like all Mercedes vehicles, your Sprinter van requires alternating Service A and B every 10,000 miles in order to stay in peak condition. A service light will indicate when it is time to take your vehicle in for this routine maintenance. If you are remote, and need to know the basics of the Sprinter van’s service schedule, we break them down here.

What Is Included in Sprinter A Service?

Basic A service at most dealerships will include the following:

  • Oil removal and replacement with Mobil 1 Synthetic motor oil
  • Fluid top-off
  • Fuel and washer additive
  • New key battery
  • Lubrication of hinges, seals, and energy chain
  • Multi-point visual inspection
  • Tire pressure correction

Add-on services can include a brake flush and fuel filter replacement.

If you gotten in too deep, and need a lifeline. Schedule a service A – appointment online

What Is Included in Sprinter B Service?

B Service for your Mercedes van will typically include the same maintenance as A service, along with the following:

  • Tire rotation
  • Brake inspection
  • New OEM windshield wipers
  • New cabin filter
  • New engine air filters

How Much Does Service A and B Cost for Mercedes Sprinter?

The cost of your van’s services will vary according to certain factors, including what type of van you have, additional parts/maintenance required, and labor. You can call our dealership to ask for a free estimate regarding your Sprinter Service A or Service B.

Do I Have to Take My Sprinter In for Service A or Service B?

While we always recommend you visit a reputable dealer for maintenance on your Mercedes, we understand that this is not always possible. As a top choice for DIY van conversions, many are using their Sprinters for extended travel or as a permanent mobile home. This means they may be “off the grid” or otherwise unable to visit a dealership for routine maintenance.

If this is the case and you have the know-how, you can certainly perform basic A or B maintenance yourself. Just be sure you are utilizing genuine OEM parts for optimal performance.

Resetting the Service Light on a Sprinter Van

Once you have completed your maintenance, you will want to reset the service light on your dashboard. This will start the counter over and you can expect it to illuminate again at another 10,000 miles.

For Older Model Vans (2017 or Older):

  1. Insert the key in the ignition and turn it to position 2
  2. On the left hand side of the steering wheel, press the “Menu” button until you see the mileage on the display panel.
  3. Press the “up” arrow until you see “Service A in ___ miles” or “Service B in ___ miles.”
  4. Press and hold the 0 reset button on the side of the instrument cluster. Hold for 30 seconds, or until you hear a “beep.”
  5. Once you hear the beep, press the Lower Display Selection button on the steering wheel.
  6. Push the “up” arrow until you see “Complete Service.”
  7. Press the reset button again for a few seconds.
  8. Your display should now read ‘Service Confirmed.”

For Newer Model Vans (2018-Present):

  1. Close all doors and press the “Start/Stop’ button once to turn the ignition on.
  2. Press the “Return” button to open the menu.
  3. Make sure “Trip” is selected, then press and hold the scroll button until the Service Menu appears.
  4. Scroll down to “ASSYST PLUS.”
