Why Is Mercedes-Benz Service B Important?
The Mercedes-Benz Service B is a part of the Mercedes Flexible Service System, which is a maintenance schedule recommended to keep your vehicle in top condition. It alternates with Service A every 10,000 miles.
When Do I Need Service B On My Mercedes?
Service B is recommended every 20,000 miles or 12 months after you have completed the Service A interval. In later Mercedes-Benz models, the Maintenance System will alert you when your Mercedes is approaching the due date for its Service B routine maintenance. You will receive a notification on your multi-function instrument cluster.
Mercedes-Benz vehicles that don’t follow a regular maintenance schedule are subject to performance issues, such as engine misfires.

Is Service B Covered Under Warranty?
Unfortunately, routine maintenance, including Service B, is not covered under new car or extended warranty plans for Mercedes. However, the cost is relatively low for the services provided and your dealer may have additional discounts available.
Although it will be an out of pocket expense, we encourage you not to skip your routine service intervals. Not only do they help keep your car running at peak performance, you will help avoid more expensive issues or even safety hazards that can arise from lack of maintenance.
